How your profile is used
Your profile is the only place Lexpoint keeps facts about you. Every score, every eligibility check, and every pre-filled form starts from these records. That matters in two directions: what an edit affects, and why an edit does not take effect instantly.
What reads what

A connected partner
Section titled “A connected partner”When you and your spouse or partner connect your accounts, each report reads the other’s profile. Your partner’s report uses your date of birth, citizenship, residence, immigration status, education, primary language tests, and Canadian work history — and yours uses theirs. Whether a partner accompanies you stays on your own family form. After you disconnect, each report stops using the other’s profile from its next refresh. See Link with your partner.
A shared ImmiReport link
Section titled “A shared ImmiReport link”Anyone you give a shared report link sees its Profile panel, with tabs for Work experience, Education, Language, Job offers, Letter of acceptance, Family info, Trade cert, and Income. Family info lists each family member’s name and date of birth.
Personal information reaches the furthest
Section titled “Personal information reaches the furthest”Four fields — citizenship country, country of residence, current immigration status, and immigration goal — decide which version of Lexpoint you see. A Canadian citizen living in Canada, or a permanent resident, gets a different dashboard and a different set of cards from someone on a temporary status or living abroad. Changing any of those four can change your navigation.
What happens when you save
Section titled “What happens when you save”Saving a profile record does not recalculate your report. This is deliberate.
- The record is written and a confirmation appears — for example Changes saved! Your Immireport will refresh within 24 hours.
- Your report is queued for recalculation.
- A strip appears across your report pages: Your changes are queued. Immireport will refresh within 24 hours.
- The scheduled refresh runs, the strip disappears, and the report shows an Up to date badge.
With ImmiReport Pro, the strip carries Refresh now, which recalculates immediately. On a free account it shows Skip the wait →, which opens the upgrade; the scheduled refresh runs either way.
Some derived flags follow the same schedule. On Annual income, a primary record of $40,000 or more reads threshold flag refreshes on the next recalculation until the refresh sets the flag.
Profile data in IRCC forms
Section titled “Profile data in IRCC forms”When you fill in an IRCC form in a case, Lexpoint prefills it from your profile. The forms that do this today are IMM1294, IMM1295, IMM5257, IMM5708, IMM5709, and IMM5710, and the fields they pull are your first and last name, date of birth, citizenship country, country of residence, current immigration status, marital status, whether you have post-secondary education, and your email and phone.
- Prefill fills the form, not the database. Values are placed into the form you are looking at; nothing is saved until you save the form.
- It never writes back. Editing a prefilled value in a form does not change your profile. To change the underlying fact, edit it in your profile.
Where a form is being filled for someone on a case, Lexpoint can prefill from that case’s applicant record instead, and from a previous application where one exists.
What your profile does not decide
Section titled “What your profile does not decide”Lexpoint calculates and displays. Whether you qualify for a program, what a score means, and what IRCC or a province will do with an application are not product behaviour and are not asserted here. Frequently asked questions
Why has my score not changed after editing my profile?
Saving never recalculates on the spot. It queues your report, and the refresh runs automatically within 24 hours. ImmiReport Pro adds a Refresh now button that recalculates immediately.
Does filling in an IRCC form change my profile?
No, and the reverse is true too — prefill copies profile values into the form you are filling in, and nothing is written back to your profile. Your profile is edited only from the profile pages.
Does my partner's profile affect my report?
Yes, once you are connected. Each connected partner's report reads the other's education, language test results, Canadian work, and status from their own account.
Which profile records does a shared ImmiReport link show?
The report's Profile panel shows your work experience, education, language tests, job offers, letters of acceptance, family members, trade certificates, and annual income.
