Your primary job

“Primary” in Lexpoint means one thing: the job offer your report treats as the one to show. It is a property of a job offer, not of a job you have worked.

Only one offer is primary at a time.

Setting it

On Profile → Job Offers, the primary offer sorts to the top of the list and carries a Primary job chip. Every other offer shows a Make primary action.

Your ImmiReport also carries a primary-offer strip with an inline switcher, so you can change the primary offer without leaving the report.

Situation	What happens
You have one Canadian offer and make it primary	Allowed.
The offer is already primary	Nothing to switch; allowed.
You have more than one Canadian offer and switch primary to a different one	Requires ImmiReport Pro. The upgrade dialogue opens instead of the switch going through.
You delete the offer that is currently primary while others exist	Same Pro gate, because the deletion moves primary elsewhere.

What primary actually drives

This is the part worth being precise about, because the name suggests more than it does.

Surface	Does it use the primary offer?
The job named on your report for provincial pathways	Yes. The report displays the primary offer as the selected job.
The Employer eligible switch	Yes. It appears only on the primary offer, and is labelled with the nominee-programme abbreviation for that offer’s province.
Provincial eligibility checks that read a job offer	Not necessarily. Some read any offer in the relevant province, not specifically the primary one.
Provincial checks based on skilled work	No. Those read your work history, not job offers at all.
Your total Canadian and foreign years	No. Those come from work history.

So the primary offer is the offer your report names. It is not a switch that redirects every calculation through one record. If your report shows one job but a result seems to be driven by another, that is why.

Choosing your provincial hub’s offer

The primary-offer strip on a provincial page in your report is location-aware. If your primary offer is in one province and you also hold an offer in the province you are looking at, the strip says so and offers the switch.

The Primary job chip on work experience

The work experience list also shows a Primary job chip on one job, and sorts that job to the top. This is a separate, older marker on your work history.

There is no control anywhere in the profile to set or clear it — the chip reflects data already on the record. New jobs you add are not marked primary. If you are looking for the primary you can actually choose, it is the job offer one above.
