Accepting a workforce invitation
If your employer uses Lexpoint — Workforce, they can send you a workforce invitation. Accepting it records that you are employed by that business, so the employer can handle workforce immigration compliance and, where it applies, support you on a temporary or permanent residence application.
You accept it in your own account. You do not get an account inside your employer’s workspace,
and you never work there. Everything you do afterwards happens at my.lexpoint.io/app.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- The invitation is sent to a specific email address. You must be signed in to a Lexpoint account that uses that same address — Lexpoint compares the two and refuses the connection if they differ.
- If you do not have an account yet, the invitation link takes you through sign-up first. Lexpoint sign-in is passwordless: a Google account or a magic link sent to your email.
- The invitation expires. Unless your employer chooses otherwise, it is valid for 14 days.
Accept the invitation
Section titled “Accept the invitation”- Open the invitation email and follow its link. It carries an invitation token, which is why the link matters — there is no code to type in manually.
- Sign in, or create your account. The token is preserved through sign-in, so you land in the right place afterwards.
- You arrive at the Employer connection page. It names the person who invited you and the organization they invited you on behalf of.
- Read the consent statement and tick the checkbox beside it.
- Select Confirm and connect.
The page confirms Connected and sends you on to your dashboard.
What you are agreeing to
Section titled “What you are agreeing to”The consent statement is fixed text — it is not written by your employer, and it is stored word for word on your record when you accept, together with the date and a fingerprint of the exact wording. It reads:
I agree to connect with <your employer> so they can manage workforce immigration compliance and, where it applies, support me on temporary or permanent residence programs. Immigration information in my Lexpoint account, including information I add later, may be used for that. I can end this in Settings. I also agree to Lexpoint’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Accepting is what makes the connection active. Until you do, there is no link — your employer adding you to their system does not create one on its own.
If you do not want to connect
Section titled “If you do not want to connect”There is no decline button, and that is deliberate — nothing is recorded either way until you tick the box and confirm. Select Not now, or close the page, and the invitation stays pending until it expires. Your employer can cancel it before then.
If you want the invitation withdrawn rather than left to expire, ask the person who sent it.
When it will not work
Section titled “When it will not work”| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| This invite link is invalid, expired, or not a workforce invite | The link is past its expiry date, has already been used, was cancelled by your employer, or is a different kind of invitation | Ask your employer to send a new workforce invitation |
| Invite email mismatch | Your Lexpoint account uses a different email than the one invited | Ask for a new invitation addressed to the email you sign in with |
| Invite is for another user | The invitation has already been tied to a different Lexpoint account | Ask your employer to send a fresh invitation |
| An open workforce link already exists for this employer | You are already connected to this organization | Open Employment — the existing connection is there |

Section titled “Related”- What your employer can see — the exact fields, and how to withdraw
- Your employment record — what the connection holds once it is active
- Leaving an employer — ending the connection yourself
- Access and sharing — every other way someone can see part of your account
- Lexpoint for Workforce — the same relationship described from the employer’s side
Frequently asked questions
Does accepting a workforce invitation give my employer access to my immigration profile or ImmiReport?
No. The connection records an employment relationship between your account and the employer's organization. Your profile, your ImmiReport, your documents, and any case you have are separate and are not part of the link.
Can I accept the invitation with a different email address than the one it was sent to?
No. Lexpoint compares the email on your account with the email the invitation was addressed to, and refuses the connection if they do not match. Ask your employer to send a new invitation to the address you actually sign in with.
How long is a workforce invitation valid?
Fourteen days from when it is created, unless your employer sets a different date or cancels it. After that the link stops working and your employer has to send a new one.
Do I join my employer's Lexpoint workspace?
No. You stay in your own account at my.lexpoint.io/app. Being connected to an employer never puts you inside the employer workspace, and your employer's staff list is a separate thing you are not added to.
