Leave
Leave has two sources: employees request it from their own account, and you record it yourself. Both live on Leave, and each person’s leave also appears on the Leave tab of their worker page.
The page states the rule that matters most: Regular benefits stay off the immigration letter; other-than-regular leave prints as a break.
Classes and kinds
Section titled “Classes and kinds”Every leave has a class and a kind.
| Class | Kinds | On an immigration-purpose letter |
|---|---|---|
| Regular benefit | Statutory holiday, Paid vacation, Paid sick leave, Regular paid benefit | Not shown |
| Other than regular | Parental leave, Unpaid leave, Medical leave, Layoff, Other interruption | Prints as a break |
Decide a request
Section titled “Decide a request”Requests appear under Requests waiting, and on the dashboard and Inbox. Each shows the person, the kind, the dates and number of days, paid or unpaid, and any note they added.
- Check the class in the selector: Confirm as · regular benefit or Confirm as · other than regular. Change it if the request is classed wrongly.
- Check the kind in the second selector.
- Select Confirm, or Decline.
Beside each regular-benefit request, Lexpoint shows the entitlement, the days used, and the days left after this one. Beside other-than-regular leave it shows Prints as a break on immigration letters.
Decide requests on the Leave page. The worker page lists their leave but does not offer the decision controls.
Record leave yourself
Section titled “Record leave yourself”- Select Record leave on the Leave page, or on the worker’s Leave tab.
- Choose the Employee (on the Leave page) and the Employment period. Only confirmed periods are offered. If there are none, confirm a period first.
- Choose the Class and Kind.
- Enter From and To. The dates must fall inside the period shown under Allowed dates.
- Set Paid. For unpaid leave that is other than regular, Subtract from scheduled hours on the letter is also offered, and is on by default.
- Select Record leave.
Recorded leave is saved as Confirmed straight away.
Recorded leave
Section titled “Recorded leave”Below the requests, Upcoming & current lists confirmed leave that has not finished, and Past keeps finished leave for the record. The month calendar on the right marks confirmed and requested leave; its dots show how many people are away, not who. People on leave today carry an On leave now tag here and On leave on the roster.
Vacation policy
Section titled “Vacation policy”The Company vacation policy card shows the default days per year for every worker.
- Set it under Settings → Workforce policies: enter Vacation days per calendar year and select Save policy. It is not a cap.
- To give one person a different number, open their worker page → Leave → Different for this worker, enter the days, and select Save override. Leave it blank to use the company policy.
When regular leave would take someone past the entitlement on file, a warning appears when you record it. You can still continue.
The employee’s side is described in Leaves and interruptions.

Does the vacation policy stop someone taking more days?
No. It is not a cap. When regular leave would go past the entitlement on file, Lexpoint shows a warning and you can still continue.
