Set up your employer workspace

/employer/onboarding·/employer/settings/organization·/employer/settings/authorized-person·Requires a Lexpoint account for the person who will run the workspace·Requires the company's CRA business number (9 digits)

An employer workspace is created by one person, who becomes its first Owner. Before you can invite employees, Lexpoint checks two things: the company, and you as the person signed in.

Sign in to Lexpoint and open my.lexpoint.io/employer. If your account has no employer workspace yet, you land on the setup form. It has three steps.

  1. Business — Business name, Contact name, Your role, and Business email. Phone is optional and takes a Canadian number.
  2. Profile — Industry, Company size, TR employees, and PR/citizen employees. Website and CRA business number are optional here.
  3. Goals — choose at least one priority: HR immigration compliance, TR employee support, PR or PNP support, Talent retention, Workforce planning, or Not sure yet.
  4. Select Create workspace. After Workspace created, you are taken to the dashboard.

The headcounts are approximate planning numbers. You can change every answer later in Settings.

A status chip sits in the header of every employer page.

StatusWhat it means
DraftThe workspace exists. One or both checks are not complete
In reviewBoth checks are complete and Lexpoint is reviewing the workspace
AcceptedLexpoint accepted the workspace
Needs changesLexpoint asked you to update the record
DisabledThe workspace is paused. Contact Lexpoint to restore it

While something is outstanding, a one-line prompt at the top of the dashboard links to the step that needs you.

  1. Go to Settings → Organization.
  2. On Company details, fill in Company Name and CRA Business Number (the first 9 digits of your CRA BN), plus Industry and Company Size. Select Save.
  3. Open the Verification tab and select Start verification. The check opens in a new window. Finish it there.
What the card saysWhat to do

Verification in progressFinish in the window that opened, or select Continue verification

Verification completeNothing. Company verification is on file

Once the company check is complete, Company Name and Corporate registry number show Locked after verification. A later change of legal name under the same CRA number is recorded under Legal name history on the same page.

The company check is about the business. This one is about you, the person signed in.

  1. Go to Settings → Primary contact.
  2. On Contact, check Full Name, Job Title, and Phone Number, then select Save. Business Email comes from your account and cannot be edited here.
  3. Open Verification and select Start verification. Finish in the new window. If you close it early, the button changes to Continue verification.

When the card reads Verification complete, your Full Name locks. You also need a complete identity check to sign letters — see Letter requests.

When both checks are complete, the workspace moves to In review on its own. There is no submit button. Invite employee becomes available at that point, and stays available after Lexpoint accepts the workspace.

If the status changes to Needs changes, update the record. Lexpoint restores the review when the file is ready.

Settings → Program readiness is not part of this gate. Fill it in when you want the OINP Workforce Priority report to have facts to compare.

Frequently asked questions

Why is Invite employee greyed out?

Invitations open once the company check and your identity check are both complete, or once Lexpoint has accepted the workspace. Until then the button shows "Invite is available after company and person verification are complete."

Is there a button to submit the workspace for review?

No. When both checks are complete, the workspace moves to In review by itself. Lexpoint then accepts it or asks for changes.

Does the primary contact have legal authority to sign for the company?

Lexpoint does not decide that. The Primary contact page records who Lexpoint reaches at the company, and the page states it is not legal authority to bind the corporation.
