# The workforce roster

[**Workforce**](https://my.lexpoint.io/employer/workforce) lists the people connected to your
workspace. Owners and HR see it. Other roles see *Workforce access is limited*.

```media
id: workforce-roster
type: screenshot
caption: Workforce → On the roster, with the four count cards, filters, and people sorted attention first.
shot: /employer/workforce on a demo employer workspace with about eight visible people — at least one Expired, one Expires, one On leave, one Permit date missing — and one person hidden by consent (footer line visible). Light mode, 1440×900 cropped to 1383×776. Redact every worker name, email, and avatar, worksite labels, and the organization name in the subtitle and sidebar.
```

## Count cards

| Card | What it counts |
|---|---|
| **Connected** | Active connections, split into visible and hidden by consent |
| **Need attention** | Visible people whose permit is expiring or expired |
| **On leave** | Visible people on confirmed leave today |
| **Open invites** | Invitations awaiting an answer, and how many expired |

## Tabs

| Tab | What it lists |
|---|---|
| **On the roster** | Everyone connected who shares their details with you |
| **Invites** | Open invitations, then expired ones. See [Invite employees](/workforce/people/invite-workers/) |
| **History** | People whose connection ended or was revoked |

## On the roster

Each row shows the person, their role and site (from their employment record), and the permit fact.
Select a row to open [the worker's page](/workforce/people/worker-page/).

| Permit fact | Meaning |
|---|---|
| **Valid to** *date* | The shared expiry date is more than 90 days away |
| **Expires** *date* | The shared expiry date is within 90 days |
| **Expired** *date* | The shared expiry date has passed |
| **Permit date missing** | The person has not shared a permit expiry date |

The role column shows the job title from the current employment period. Without one, it shows
**Connected** and the date they connected. An **On leave** tag appears during confirmed leave.

### Search, filter, and sort

| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Search | Matches name or email |
| **All worksites** | Limits the list to one worksite |
| Sort | **Sort · attention first** (default), **Name**, **Permit date**, or **Newest** |
| **All** / **Needs attention** / **On leave** | Quick filters |
| **Residency status · not shared** | Always disabled. Immigration status is not on the employer file |

**Export CSV** downloads `roster.csv` with **Name**, **Email**, **Role**, **Site**, and **Permit**
for the rows currently shown.

### Hidden by consent

A person who is connected but has not granted roster visibility is **counted, never named**. The
footer reads, for example, *1 person joined but has not shared their details yet. They are counted,
never named.*

## History

When a connection ends, the person leaves **On the roster** and appears under **History** with:

- the email the invitation went to, not their account name
- the job title from their first employment period
- the reason: **Employee left**, **Ended**, or **Revoked**
- an **Ended** or **Revoked** status and the date it ended

Their worker page no longer opens. Letters you already issued stay under
**Documents → Issued letters**.

There is no control in the employer workspace to end a connection. The person ends it from their own
account — see [Leaving an employer](/individuals/employment/leaving/).

## Frequently asked questions

### Why is someone counted but not named?

They are connected but have not shared their details with you through roster visibility. Lexpoint counts them and never names them.

### Can I remove someone from the roster?

No. There is no control in the employer workspace to end a connection. The person ends it from their own account, and they then move to History.

### What does Expires mean on the roster?

The permit expiry date the person shared is within 90 days. It is a date on file, not a statement about whether they may work.
